Configuration #: 1
Configuration Name: west
Description: A set of three vertical sundials on slate backs with gold markings and gnomons. Vertical sundials used to be mounted on the towers of churches and town halls, having a dial on the South, East and West side of a tower would allow people to tell the time from some distance away.

The dials have been calibrated for 40° North, on the Meridian and so will be most accurate at this latitude and multiples of 15° longitude; Philadelphia and Denver, for example. Longitude is likely to be more important than latitude, due to time zones. Obviously the aspect of the wall is also very important. The dials have been made 12" square and can be adjusted to suit. Component will glue to vertical surfaces.
